Kachusha
This video is me playing kachusa song in guitar because i didn't get a good score for my previous song. I got a 8.5 / 10 in this song and i think next time if i get a chance, i can do better.
3-10-11 Monday
Today, we were introduced about minor scales. i never learnt anything about minor scales before so it's a bit confusing a first, but the teachers aid it's like the natural scale C in major and Am in minor. After we were explained the differences between the minor and major scales, we figured out the formula to get the next scale which 5th note starts the next scale and 6th note got a sharp.

The assessments are now over. Today, we discussed about the topics for term 2. In term 2, we will be making our own composition. the teacher gave us homework to search what is rondo and how are going to make the composition, the format and requirements. In 7th grade, i already made my own composition but that was not using rondo. There is going to be a pattern like A B A' B C but then i'm not sure. I need to learn this because it will be my assessments in term 2
26-9-11 Thursday
Today, there was one of my friend who didn't do the assessment about the classical song. Then we had reviews about the major scales and all the other theories we learned in music. Then, the teacher checked our blog but then i didn't update my blog until today so maybe i will ask my friends for information on what did we do on the specific dates that i didn't write my reflection on.

Today, Mr. John showed us all the scores for the assessments we'e done since the beginning of grade 9 which consisted of the singing assessment, the slide show presentation and the performance of a composition by our great composers using our own musical instrument. We were still waiting for the results of the booklet about our great composers because then teacher didn't check the booklets yet. Afterwards, the teacher gathered the students with good scores in singing and playing the compositions and recorded them again for the exhibition. I wasn't chosen so then i went to instrument class and practiced. Next time, we review again

19-9-11 Monday
Today, we got the results from the quiz last session. I'm grateful that i didn't get a low score but i think i can still improve on my score. I think i got around 22/30 so then i think i need more practice in this. Afterwards, i got my results for playing minuet last session. I got 7, which i think that i'm not satisfied. So, i redo my classical music and i played Kachusha. Afterwards, i got 8.5 for playing Kachusha and that made me very happy and i'm satisfied with my score because i just need to get above 8. Next time, the teacher will show us all of our assessment scores
15-9-11 Thursday
Today, we had a 25 minute quiz about the major chords, major seventh chords and the dominant seventh chords. i didn't study much for the quiz but it turns out i could do it pretty well. I think i got a good score for the quiz because im confident with my answers and i reviewed it just before the quiz started. After the quiz, we all discussed about the answers with our friends and i think i may get a little careless mistake on this quiz. i think i'll get a good score for this. next time, i think i'll redo my composition for my composer
12-9-11 Monday
Today is the time that we perform our great composer's music. I was going to perform Bouree by Johann Sebastian Bach, but the it turned out that i didn't have enough practice time so i couldn't play through the whole song. Instead, i played a much easier composition by Johann Sebastian Bach, Minuet. I think i played it ok because i minimized the number of stops in the song. Some of my friends played better than me. Mr. John said we can redo the song but he didn't give a complete information regarding that. Next session, we are going to have a quiz
8-9-11 Thursday
Today, we were supposed to perform our great composer's song but a lot of us wasn't ready yes. So, we did like practice in front of our friends and Mr.john gave some tips and reccomendation on how can we improve and how can we be better. Mr.John gave us a trial score so that we know are we already good in this prcatice or do we need to still practice. I think i didn't do so well so Mr.John gave advice to me that i should practice a lot more at home. Next session, we will do the real performance.
22-8-11 Monday
Today, we learned about the triads of the first and second inversion. Again, Mr.John checked our music books after we were asked to note down the important parts of the lesson and try to do the inversions of the other scales. Today, my friend, Hashfi redo his singing assesment and he did better than last time. Afterwards, Mr.John asked questions to us if we understood about this lesson. Some of us still didn't quite understand so Mr.John asked some of us to write down on the whiteboard, the steps and the formula for the traids and inversion. Next session, we were supposed to perform our classical composer's song.
18-8-11 Thursday
Today, as Mr.John said in the previous session, we continued the lessons of the major 7 scales and Mr.John taught us about inversion. At first a lot of people were confused what was inversion and how can we do it in music. After Mr.John explained it to us, most of the people understood and we were asked to do, in our music books, the major scale, the major seventh scale and the inversions for both the major scales and major seventh scales. Afterwards, Mr.John checked our music books to see if we understood the concept and the method of finding the inversions. Some of my friends also redo the singing assesment to get a higher score. Next session, we will learn about triads.
15-8-11 Monday
Today, in music class, we reviewed about the basics of the major scales but with an addition of major 7 scales. We learned how to add the 7th note to the natural major scale. Then, Mr.John asked us to write in our music books, the formula to find the seventh note and also, we were asked to write all the major 7 scales, which is basically a major scale with a 7th note added. Next session, Mr. John is going to continue this lesson
